Inscription: new deadline! (April 1st 2011)

We already have a number of official participators but I know that there are still a lot of groups from around the world who have not yet inscribed in the competition. For this reason the organizers of UNIVTube have decided to extend the deadline until Friday, April 1st. There is not much time remaining! It’s important not to miss this deadline! So far we have groups from Hong Kong, Madrid, Valencia, Vilnius, Slovakia, Barcelona…and more.

We now have daily activity on the blog. There you can see the videos from previous years to get an idea how yours compares. Last year we had 22 videos from 7 different coutries. Let’s see if you set a new record!

April 8th – deadline for the videos (the link)
April 19th – Presentation in Rome

Can Christianity inspire a global culture? (Finland)

Abstract:

Our aim in this video is to investigate whether Christianity could inspire a common, global, yet diversified culture. In order to knit our presentation together around this large question, we approach the theme from the viewpoint of human rights, how they have been expressed and understood today as in the past, and how they are lived. We observe briefly that the resulting conceptions and practices have deep implications in all the spheres of culture.

Resumen:

Por medio de este documental queremos dar respuesta a la grandiosa pregunta planteada con motivo del Forum Univ 2010: Can Christianity inspire a global culture? Nuestro objetivo es demostrar con hechos la realidad del cristianismo no como una cuestión de debate sino como una realidad existente capaz de superar dificultades e inspirar la vida de pueblos enteros más allá de la propia cultura local.

A partir del tema del Congreso UNIV 2010, preguntamos a personas no cristianas qué puede aportar el cristianismo a la sociedad. En un pais donde la convivencia entre diferentes religiones forma parte de la propia identidad, conocer lo que piensan quienes no son cristianos puede aportar elementos interesantes para la reflexión.
